SPECTACULAR SOUTH ISLAND (IPI2012)

Day 1:
Arrive in Queenstown, New Zealand. Welcome to New Zealand! Your hotel room is available for mid-afternoon check-in. Meet your Local Host this afternoon and pick up your rental car.

Day 2:
Queenstown. Milford Sound Excursion. Travel by motorcoach along the shores of Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau, gateway to FIORDLAND NATIONAL PARK. View the Mirror Lakes as you pass through Eglinton Valley. From the Homer Tunnel, emerge into Cleddau Valley. Join your Milford Sound CRUISE for an unforgettable experience. (B)

Day 3:
Queenstown. A full day at leisure in the “Adventure Capital of the World.” (B)

Day 4:
Queenstown–Mount Cook Region. Head north and make a stop in charming Wanaka en route to stunning Mount Cook. (B)

Day 5:
Mount Cook–Dunedin. Depart this alpine wonderland and drive to Dunedin, one of the best-preserved Victorian and Edwardian cities in the Southern Hemisphere. (B)

Day 6:
Dunedin. A free day at your leisure to explore the city and the surrounding area. (B)

Day 7:
Dunedin–Queenstown. Today, travel through the rugged Otago region to Queenstown. Along the way, see signs of the gold rush that boomed in the 1860s. As you near Queenstown you will pass through Central Otago, a popular wine-making region. (B)

Day 8:
Queenstown. Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning. Return your rental car at the airport prior to departure. (B)
